Ukraine has asked member states of the UN Security Council to hold an urgent meeting to discuss steps for guarantee the country’s security and defuse tensions with Russia, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said on Monday.
Russia is a permanent member with the right of veto of the UN Security Council.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said earlier on Monday he would make a decision on recognize two separatist regions in Eastern Ukraine later on Monday.
