The Kremlin has commented on reports in the US media that Russia is preparing a list of Ukrainian political figures that should be “purged or arrested” in the event of a military conflict between Moscow and Kiev.
When asked about the allegations and the news on Monday, a Kremlin spokesperson said: “These are false and baseless news… There is no such list. It is false and an absolute lie.”
Earlier, the magazine claimedForeign policyThe American newspaper, citing sources, said that Russia had prepared “a list of Ukrainian politicians who are scheduled to be purged or arrested after the invasion of Ukraine.”
Other US media also reported that Washington sent a letter to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Affairs, Michelle Bachelet, containing such information.
