The King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aid and Assistance “Masam” project to clear Yemeni lands from mines, which managed to remove 1143 mines laid by the Houthi militia in various regions of Yemen during the fifth week of June 2022 AD, including 8 anti-personnel mines, 312 anti-tank mines mines, 777 long-term storage ammunition, explosive devices and 46 explosive devices.
The Masam team was able to clear 204 anti-tank mines, 112 UXO and 42 IEDs in Aden Governorate, while one anti-personnel mine and one UXO was removed in the Qataba area of Al-Dhaliya Governorate, and one was removed in the Hayes District, Al In Hudaydah Governorate anti-personnel mine, 28 anti-tank mines and 11 unexploded ordnance.
In Marib governorate, one anti-tank mine was removed in the Wadi district, 16 anti-tank mines were removed in the Kharib district, 600 non-explosive ordnance were removed in the Marib district, 6 anti-tank mines were removed in the Ain district, and 9 anti-tank mines were cleared in the Asilan district.
In the meantime, the Masama team in Taiz managed to clear 3 anti-tank mines and 3 UXO in the Al-Waziah area, 3 anti-personnel mines, 13 anti-tank mines and 38 UXO in the Mocha area, and 3 anti-personnel mines. 32 anti-tank mines and 12 unexploded ordnance. Explosives and 4 explosive devices in Zbab Directorate.
Thus, the number of mines that have been cleared so far during June has increased to 6,509, bringing the number of mines cleared since the start of the Masam project to 348,883 mines, which have been indiscriminately placed by the Houthi militias in all parts of countries. Yemeni demand more innocent victims of children, women and the elderly.
