The Committee for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Shura Council held a meeting via videoconference chaired by Council Member and Vice Chairman of the Committee Dr. Ali bin Saad Al Ali, during which the annual report of the Council of the Ministry of Sports for the financial year 1442/1443 AH was discussed, with the participation of a number of officials of the Ministry, led by the Deputy Minister for Strategic Planning and Investments, Ms. Adwa Al-Arifi.
The meeting reviewed current and future projects of the ministry that contribute to the support and development of infrastructure for Saudi sports in various areas. New installations.
He also discussed the content of the club support strategy and federation support strategy, ministry projects, club privatization, club management and cost control, investment projects and the ministry’s work to develop a new integrated investment strategy to attract more public and private investment. to sports.
During the meeting, the Committee reviewed the development programs and specialized programs implemented by the Ministry of Press, Radio and Television under the initiative (Development of Sports Media) with the aim of developing the skills and qualifications of sports media professionals in all regions of the Kingdom, as well as training them in new sports events. and recent events in the Kingdom.
Ministry officials confirmed that women’s sport has a lot of support from the leadership and have worked to create and develop a number of future plans for competitive and community sports for women, and the ministry has sought to launch many initiatives in all regions of the Kingdom.
The meeting discussed the scholarship program for the development of sports talents, which promotes the improvement and development of skills. Ministry staff confirmed that the first stage began in 2019.
During the meeting, the Council members sent a number of questions and inquiries to the officials of the Ministry of Sports regarding the annual report, where the officials of the Ministry responded to those raised by the members.
It should be noted that the Committee for Culture, Sports and Tourism is a member of the specialized committees of the Shura Council, studies, in accordance with its competence, the relevant issues, regulations and provisions transferred to it, and submits its opinion and recommendations on these issues. before submitting them to the Council for discussion and approval.
