Based on the distinguished fraternal relations and established historical ties that unite the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkey and their two brotherly peoples, and in response to the kind invitation of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdel Aziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Vice President of the Council of Ministers visited the Republic of Turkey on June 22, 2022.

In an atmosphere of love and brotherhood, embodying the depth of respectful relations between the two countries, an official session of negotiations took place between His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
During the talks, bilateral relations between the two countries were considered from various angles, and their common determination to strengthen cooperation in bilateral relations between the two countries, including in the political, economic, military, security spheres was most strongly reaffirmed, and the parties exchanged views on the most important regional and international events of mutual interest.
The parties discussed ways to develop and diversify domestic trade, promote trade exchanges between the two countries, overcome any difficulties in this regard, and enhance communication between the public and private sectors of the two countries to discuss investment opportunities and translate them into tangible partnerships in various fields, highly appreciating the great economic potential of the two countries as members of the Group of 20. Opportunities offered by the Kingdom Vision 2030 in the areas of investment, trade, tourism, entertainment, development, industry, mining, construction projects, transport and infrastructure (including contract work), agriculture, food security, health care, communications and information technology, media and sports. And they agreed to intensify the work of the Saudi-Turkish Coordinating Council, increase the level of cooperation and coordination on issues of common interest, work on the exchange of experience between specialists from the two countries.
The parties expressed their desire to cooperate in the field of energy, including oil, oil refining and petrochemicals, energy efficiency, electricity, renewable energy, innovation and clean technologies for hydrocarbon resources, low-carbon fuels and hydrogen, as well as work on energy localization. industry products and related supply chains, as well as the development of projects related to these areas.
In the area of environment and climate change, the Republic of Turkey welcomed the launch of the Kingdom’s Green Saudi Arabia and Green Middle East initiatives and expressed support for the Kingdom’s efforts on climate change by applying the circular carbon economy approach launched by the Kingdom and endorsed by the G20 leaders. The parties reaffirmed the importance of respecting the principles of the Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement, as well as the need to develop and implement a climate agreement, focusing on emissions without sources. Both parties reaffirmed their support for two initiatives launched during the Kingdom’s Presidency of the G-20 Summit in 2020, namely (Global Initiative to Reduce Land Degradation and Improve the Conservation of Terrestrial Habitat) and Initiative (Platform to Accelerate Research and Development in Global coral reefs).
The parties agreed to develop a productive and investment partnership in the field of artificial intelligence, digital technologies and smart cities, as well as to encourage cooperation from the private sector working in these areas.
The Turkish side called on investment funds operating in the Saudi business environment to invest in and establish partnerships with emerging companies in Turkey.
The parties agreed to strengthen and continue the relationship between the “Turkish Standards Institute” and the “Saudi Organization for Standardization and Metrology” in the framework of cooperation agreements signed between the two interested institutions.
The parties agreed to exchange visits of scientists within the framework of the cooperation protocol signed between the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey “TUBITAK” and the “King Abdulaziz City of Science and Technology” in 2016.
The parties stressed the need to strengthen and develop cooperation between the Department for the Development and Support of Small and Medium Enterprises in Turkey and the General Directorate for Small and Medium Enterprises in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
On the issue of defense, the parties agreed to intensify the agreements signed between the two countries in the field of defense cooperation, as well as to strengthen and develop them in order to serve the interests of the two countries and contribute to achieving security and stability in the region.
The parties agreed to intensify judicial cooperation, to work on the exchange of experience between specialists in the judicial and judicial spheres.
The parties stressed the importance of cooperation in the field of tourism, development of tourism traffic between the two countries, exploring the tourism potential that each country has, and strengthening joint work for the benefit of the tourism sector and its development in accordance with the bilateral agreement. agreements signed between the two countries.
The parties stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between national civil aviation authorities and simplifying administrative procedures for airline operations.
The parties agreed on their intention to develop the existing cooperation between the two countries in the field of healthcare. The parties will explore the possibilities of cooperation in the field of investments in healthcare.
The Saudi side expressed its gratitude to Turkey for supporting the candidacy of Riyadh to host EXPO-2030.
The parties reaffirmed their desire to intensify cooperation, coordination and exchange of views on important issues and problems in the regional and international arena in such a way that this contributes to maintaining and strengthening security and stability in the region. And support for a political solution to all crises in the countries of the region, while emphasizing that the sovereignty of none of them is harmed, and seeking everything that would save the countries of the region from tension and lay the foundations for security and stability. in them.
The parties also reaffirmed their determination to strengthen cooperation and effective coordination among themselves within the framework of regional and international organizations, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the UN. And continue their close cooperation to ensure peace, stability and security in the region.
