The death toll from floods and landslides in Brazil rose to 139 after rescuers found new bodies under mud in Petropolis.
On Saturday, more than 500 rescuers, along with helicopters, excavators and search dogs, continued their search, even as the chances of finding survivors dwindled.
In the Alto Serra neighborhood, where about 80 homes were engulfed by landslides, rescuers recovered two bodies on Saturday morning.
Elsewhere in the city centre, family members burst into tears as rescuers searched for a mother of four in the rubble of a collapsed house after rescuers found the bodies of a father and two children.
Local authorities say the mud and rubble piles are unstable, so the searches were carried out with hand tools.
