Brazil veteran Dani Alves has announced his second departure from Barcelona after returning last year.
Alves, 39, returned to the club’s colors last November at the request of coach Xavi on a short-term contract until the end of last season.
Alfish revealed that he would not be renewing his contract for an additional season and wrote on his Instagram account: “I would like to thank all the staff of the club for giving me the opportunity to return to this club and put on their shirt again. you don’t know how happy I am.”
Alves played 408 games for Barcelona over two periods, the first of which was from 2008 to 2016, when the team experienced a golden era, winning the La Liga 6 times, the Champions League 3 times and the Copa del Rey 4 times.
Alves still defending Brazil’s colors and this month he played the last two friendly matches against Japan and South Korea and is expected to be part of the official squad that will take part in the World Cup in Qatar scheduled for November 21 to December 18 next.
