The Saudi Arabian Olympic football team reached the semi-finals after defeating Vietnam 2-0 today, Sunday, at the Lokomotiv Stadium in Tashkent in the quarter-finals of the U23 Asian Cup in Uzbekistan.
Mutaib Al-Harbi gave the advantage to the Saudi team through outstanding individual efforts and the goal came from a powerful shot that hit the far left corner of Vietnam goalkeeper Quan Van Chuan in the 41st minute of the match.
Firas Al-Braykan doubled the progress of the Saudi Green in the 65th minute of a superb technical sentence executed by his colleagues before the ball reached Mutaib Al-Faraj who deflected the ball beautifully in the penalty area and then the scorer of the goal with a header into the net beautifully on the 65th minute.
Vietnam ended the match with ten men after goalkeeper Quan Van Chuan was sent off in the 77th minute after he grossly interfered with striker Firas Al Braykan.
Saudi Arabia reached the semi-finals against Australia, which beat Turkmenistan 1-0 on Saturday.
