The Arab League welcomed the Norwegian government’s decision to label goods from Israeli settlements in the occupied territories of the Golan Heights, the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
Dr. Said Abu Ali, Assistant Secretary General for Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories at the Arab League, considered Norway’s decision an important legal and moral step in the right direction leading to a boycott of Israeli settlement products and preventing their entry into Europe and the world.
In this regard, the Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and the Occupied Arab Territories of the Arab League condemned the daily incursions by Jewish extremists of the sacred Al-Aqsa Mosque and its courtyards, as well as Islamic and Christian shrines, warning that the continuation of these incursions would turn the conflict into a religious war that is difficult to control.
He called on the countries of the world and peoples who love justice, freedom and peace to boycott the occupation and its colonial settlements to counter these plans and aggressive racist practices, and work to enforce resolutions that recognize international legitimacy and apply the principles of international law to put an end to occupation and allow the Palestinian people to exercise their rights to freedom and independence.
