Next Thursday kicks off the fifth Ice Hockey Open Championship, which will last two days, during which 40 players representing four teams from the Kingdom will compete at the Waad Academy in Jeddah under the leadership of the Saudi Ice Hockey Federation.
The tournament is a continuation of tournaments organized by the Ice Hockey Federation at the Kingdom level, following the success of the first tournament held in Dammam last September, in addition to the second tournament organized in Jeddah last October. in addition to a third tournament held in Riyadh and a fourth recently held in Dammam.
The head of the Saudi Arabia Hockey Federation, engineer Muhammad Al Mandil, pointed to the union’s willingness to organize playing tournaments in various regions of the Kingdom with the aim of spreading the hockey culture and presenting it in a way that is consistent with the development that has taken place. Saudi sports and in line with the goals of the Kingdom’s Strategy 2030, which is related to the development of sports and the increase in the number of its practitioners in the Kingdom.
