The Saudi Arabian Taekwondo Federation ended its sports season yesterday by hosting the 42nd Saudi Arabian Super Cup Kingdom Club Championship with (403) players representing (42) clubs.
The champions were crowned by the President of the Federation, Brigadier General Shaddad Al-Omari, in the presence of members of the Board of Directors, the President of Al-Shabab and the Al-Tarji Club, Khaled Al-Baltan, Hussein Al-Dar and many sports figures.
The competitions were held in the hall of the Ministry of Sports in Riyadh (Green Hall). The youth team resolved the conflict at the senior level and won the first place cup with (737) points and (5) gold. Al Hilal finished second with (312) points and two gold medals. Al Wahda finished third with (231) points and one gold while Abha’s team finished fourth with (185) points. The All-Star Team was awarded the Perfect Team Award.
In the youth category, Team Abha (Leader of the South) placed first with (464) points and (3) gold, second place with (313 points and gold) and Al-Hilal third with (261) points and two golds, and fourth branch with (236) points and gold. The Al Watan team received the award for the ideal team.
The Season Closing Ceremony witnessed the honoring of a number of prominent personalities of the sporting season, starting with former federation vice president and Olympic judge Abu Bakr Kurdi for his efforts and services to Saudi sports, continental and international honour. The Women’s Leadership Award was also given to Taekwondo Wisdom Sahar Momenah and Al Raed club veteran coach Ali Al Issa was honored for his long efforts during his career as he entered the game in (14) clubs over ( 40 years. And Best Female Player Maram Al-Yahya, Best International Judge Award Ghazi Al-Ghanim, Promising Judge for Abdul Rahman Al-Omari, Administrator Ali Al-Yami (WJ), Best Administrator Nojud Imam, Best Taekwondo Judge Among women, Arwa Hassan, and the best (3) coaches in the sports season, Mishal Al-Dosari, Al-Hilal), Khaled Al-Dehaimi (Division) and Mansour Asiri (Abha), as well as the best coach Reem Abu Bakr. So far, the best player of the season is Fahd Al-Samih – the Al-Shabab club, which has received the highest international rating among Saudi players.
During the closing ceremony, the sports season leaders were honored where the Abha Club won the General Skills Cup for Al Qaruqi after leading the sports season with (90) points breaking previous records. As for Pomsi, Esperance won the General Excellence Cup with (60) points, greatly outperforming their competitors after winning all Pomsi championships.
In this regard, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Taekwondo Federation congratulated all participating teams, including administrators, coaches, players, all judges and committees, on their success in the sports season, explaining that everyone deserved the honor for their great efforts and wonderful work that contributed to raising the competitive index and doubling the number of players and participants during this sports season, which led to the outward superiority of the Saudi Arabia national team, receiving international medals, hoping that everyone will do more, expressing gratitude and greetings to all the leaders of more than 70 clubs for their contribution to the success of the sports season, as well as to the members of the Board of Directors of the Federation for their constant presence at the event.
