A state of anger has exploded within the walls of English club Liverpool over an offer from Bayern Munich to sign Senegalese star Sadio Mane.
After they turned down the first offer, Bayern Munich made a second offer for Mane worth £23m, with odd additions, worth £6.5m if Bayern Munich win the Champions League and Mane will receive the Ballon d’Or award.
And according to the newspaper “Zerkalo”, the administration of “Liverpool” considered the proposal a “joke” both because of the very low cost of the contract with Mane, and because of the strange terms of the additions.
Liverpool sporting director Julian Ward has refused to meet with Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic unless he has an offer that matches Liverpool’s valuation of their Senegalese star, which is in excess of £40m, according to the outlet.
And the pressure on Liverpool is mounting over Mane’s agreement to the terms of a personal offer from Bayern that includes a hefty salary three times his current salary at Liverpool.
Sources close to the Reds confirmed that the club’s management is outraged by the actions of Bayern Munich, and their “meager” offers for a contract with the player do not correspond to the global position of the player.
If Mane stays at Liverpool next season, he will reportedly be able to join on a free transfer in the summer of 2023 when his contract expires.
