The Japanese government has welcomed the extension of the truce in Yemen for another two months.
The Japanese Foreign Ministry statement confirmed that the Japanese government appreciates the important role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman, the countries of the region and all parties in Yemen, as well as the mediation efforts made by the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, extended the truce.
The statement stresses the importance of reaching a political settlement, to be reached through dialogue among the Yemeni people, and achieving lasting peace in Yemen.
