Yemeni Prime Minister Main Abdul-Malik warned against a continuation of the Houthis siege of Taiz and refused to comply with the terms of the UN truce, stressing that this would lead to a “catastrophic situation”. and issues of mutual interest, as well as agreed positions on a number of files, the Yemeni news agency Saba reported.
The Yemeni Prime Minister noted that the government is making “extraordinary” efforts to meet basic needs and services and is working closely with the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council in addition to its commitment to a just and comprehensive peace option, stressing that “The Houthis’ continued siege of Taiz and refusal to implement terms of the UN truce leads to a catastrophic situation. This requires international pressure on the Houthis and their supporters.”
For his part, the new US Ambassador, in statements relayed by the Saba news agency, expressed his satisfaction with the visit to Aden and what he heard from the Yemeni Prime Minister about the latest developments, stressing that he is committed to working on developing bilateral relations in various fields and support for the Yemeni government’s efforts.
