The statement added: “Despite the continuation of the truce declared by the United Nations in Yemen, which was mainly aimed at alleviating the humanitarian suffering of Yemenis, the violation of the truce and repeated shelling by Houthi militias of the city of Marib, which has a population of 4 million, including more than 2 million displaced persons, and the governorates of Hodeidah, Al-Dalia, Hajja and other governorates represent one of the most striking examples of the danger to the lives and safety of civilians in conflict situations. militias also continue to fire ballistic missiles, drones and other heavy weapons on civilians, killing dozens and injuring hundreds, mostly women and children, destroying schools, hospitals and places of worship, in addition to recruiting children into so-called summer camps, brainwashing them with ideas of hatred and extremism and throwing them to the front, in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, international human rights law and international norms.
Opening transitions and removing restrictions
He reiterated the need for the international community and the Security Council to fulfill their responsibilities and begin to lift the siege of Taiz, open checkpoints, remove restrictions on the freedom of movement of people and goods urgently and unconditionally, ensure humanitarian access to those in need, and stop obstructing the Houthi militias and their interference in the work of international organizations.
Yemeni Prime Minister Main Abdul-Malik said that the delay and refusal of the Houthi militias to fulfill their duties under the UN ceasefire places the responsibility on the international community and the United Nations to identify those who impede peace and deepen the conflict. the human suffering of the Yemenis.
