The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has dismissed a challenge filed by Al-Nasr Saudi Arabia regarding the eligibility of certain players from Iran’s Persepolis team who competed in the 2020 AFC Champions League (West) semi-finals.
In the 2020 edition, Persepolis won on penalties over Al Nasr 3/5 after a 1–1 draw in the original and extra halves, however Al Nasr filed a formal complaint against Persepolis alleging that some the players did not have to take part.
The AFC Disciplinary and Appeal Committees rejected Al-Nasr’s protest, so Al-Nasr went to CAS.
