An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale shook the city of Valinar in the Atacama region of northern Chile.
According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 46.7 km, 56 km from the city of Valinar.
There were no reports of casualties or property damage as a result of the earthquake.
