Today in Cairo began the work of the thirty-third emergency emergency conference of the Arab Parliamentary Union, entitled “Al-Aqsa Mosque and all Islamic and Christian shrines – our first priority.” Union and Parliament of Bahrain, Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, with the participation of the heads of the parliamentary legislative councils of the Arab countries.
The delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the conference was headed by His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, Speaker of the Shura Council.
Zainal said in her opening remarks: This emergency meeting is being held in the light of exceptional circumstances, great challenges and developments designed to damage the stability of the Arab countries and encroach on their peoples, interests and capabilities, highlighting the importance of the role of Arab parliamentarians. in protecting the rights and sovereignty of the Arabs, and the importance of Arab solidarity and efforts to defend fixed issues that present Palestine as a top priority for the Arabs, adding that the violations that have taken place in recent weeks against the Palestinian brothers and the methods that have been rejected Israeli authorities demand a unified Arab parliamentary position in support of the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the seriousness of the repeated Israeli attacks and provocations against the people of Jerusalem, as well as condemnation of the murder of Palestinian journalist Shirin Abu Akle, as it constitutes a violation of the norms and principles of international humanitarian law and a flagrant attack on freedom of the media and press.
She explained that the challenges the region is facing require awakening resolve, joining forces to overcome them, defending opportunities, and working together and joining forces to create a better future for all, pointing out that this can only be achieved by working in the spirit of the Arab unity.
For his part, Councilor Hanafi Jabali, Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament, stressed in a similar speech that the Palestinian issue is the first central issue for the Arabs, noting that the Israeli occupation authorities are hatching malicious plans to undermine the Arab identity of Jerusalem and encroach on its holy sites.
He pointed out that the Israeli occupying authorities consistently commit flagrant violations of Islamic and Christian shrines, ignoring all universal and international values and norms calling for the need to consolidate religious coexistence, emphasizing the need for active action by Arab parliaments in international parliamentary forums in defense of Islamic and Christian shrines and for informing the parliaments of the world about violations by Israel.
For his part, the Chairman of the Palestinian National Council, Ravi Fattoukh, in his speech at the conference, pointed out the importance of working to implement all the decisions that were taken at various levels to protect and protect Jerusalem and its holy places in the face of the dangers facing it and the importance of translating all decisions into life, starting with a commitment to what was declared. Arab peace initiative “in letter, spirit and consistency”.
Fattuh warned that the stage of confiscation of the pure religious rights of Muslims in the Al-Aqsa Mosque; It entered the stage of actual implementation after it began to undergo temporal division and persistently tries to perpetuate the spatial division in it, emphasizing the need for policies and procedures aimed at ending the policy of ethnic cleansing carried out by the occupiers in the city of Jerusalem.
In turn, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Kuwait, Marzouk Al-Ghanim, in a similar speech, stressed the importance of Palestinian national reconciliation as the only strategic condition for strengthening the resilience of the Palestinian people and ending the state of political fragmentation and fragmentation, calling for support for the soft power of the Palestinian people as a necessary means to preserve the Palestinian memory and enhancing his ability to prove that he commits an occupier from attacks and violations against him.
Al-Ghanim reaffirmed Kuwait’s support for all initiatives aimed at accelerating Palestinian reconciliation, especially Egypt’s tireless efforts to complete this reconciliation, in addition to other Arab efforts.
