The Organization of Islamic Cooperation strongly condemned the killing of Al Jazeera correspondent Shirin Abu Akleh in the Palestinian territories, stressing that it was a clear violation of international laws and norms and required immediate investigation and accountability.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has confirmed that the persecution by the Israeli occupying forces of the journalist Abu Akila, while she was carrying out her journalistic duties along the way to report the facts and document the crimes he is committing against the Palestinian people, takes place in the context of Israel’s Violation of Press and Media Freedom under its a policy aimed at confiscating the truth, gagging and hiding their transgressions on a daily basis, and preventing it from being shared with the world community.
The Organization held Israel, the occupying Power, fully responsible for this heinous crime and called on the relevant international institutions to take immediate action to ensure justice and provide the necessary protection for journalists and media workers working in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, in accordance with international humanitarian law and relevant international conventions.
