Vice-President of the Asian Chess Federation Musayed Al-Zuwayhri yesterday opened the Mecca Chess Championship, which was organized by the Saudi Chess Club in the sports town of King Abdulaziz in Al-Sharia.
The tournament was held according to the Swiss system in seven rounds, 85 international, professional and amateur chess players took part in it, the first place was taken by the international chess player Sameh Sadek from the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the champion of the Kingdom of chess Abdullah Al-Mutairi. for 2022 ranked second, with international player Fahd Al-Turki ranked third.
As part of the tournament, a children’s round was held, in which Yasin Ahmed Ismail won the first place, Musaed Hassan Al-Mutairi took the second place, and Nayef Al-Amiri took the third place.
