Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport operates 209 round-trip flights between Medina and the Qatari capital Doha between November 13 and December 24 to carry over 30,000 passengers from the Saudi masses to support the Saudi Arabian national team participating in the 2022 FIFA World Cup AD, as well as travelers of different nationalities to attend matches of the tournament organized by Qatar.
The number of flights departing from the Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina to the new Hamad International Airport in Doha is 104 flights with 14,310 passengers, while Medina Airport receives 105 flights in the same period with a capacity of 15,120 passengers, as and various agencies. Those working at the airport strive to facilitate the procedures for the arrival and departure of passengers through the airport with regular scheduled flights.
Khaled Awaida, General Manager General Services and Public Relations Supervisor of Taibah Airports Company, explained that the Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina is one of the ports that operate daily scheduled flights to Doha, pointing out that the documents required for Citizens Saudi Arabian or Persian Gulf residents can travel by air from Medina to the new Hamad International Airport in Doha, including holding a valid passport, in addition to receiving a third booster dose to prevent the corona virus, while special travel requirements for Saudi residents include holding passport and residence permit, as well as a valid exit and return visa, while a traveler visiting Saudi Arabia must have a valid passport and air ticket booking, adding that obtaining a Haya card is mandatory for all travelers wishing to attend FIFA 2022. World Cup in Qatar with regular flights departing from the airports of Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Medina and Qassim.
Awaida emphasized the commitment of all concerned authorities working at the Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina to provide every opportunity to ensure the regularity of flights and the smooth movement of travelers to participate in the 2022 FIFA World Cup competitions.
It is noteworthy that tomorrow the Saudi Arabia national football team will begin the 2022 World Cup competitions with a match to be held at the Lusail Stadium against Argentina in Group C, which along with them includes Poland and Mexico.
