The Qatari authorities have announced a fine of up to $70,000 for anyone selling tickets for the 2022 World Cup matches without a license from the International Football Association (FIFA).
Qatar’s Ministry of Justice, through its Twitter account, posted a tweet attached to an explanatory video stating: “The law punishes with a fine of no more than 250,000 riyals for anyone who issues, sells, resells or exchanges tickets without a FIFA license.”
She pointed out that this fine is based on the “Law No. (10) of 2021 on measures for the holding of the World Cup”, which is expected between November 21 and December 18.
In May, Qatari authorities made arrests for selling counterfeit products related to the World Cup.
