According to the Israeli army and ambulance crews, dozens of Palestinians and three Israelis were injured Wednesday night Thursday during clashes at Joseph’s tomb, which is visited by Jews, near Nablus in the north of the occupied West Bank.
The Israeli army said it was “escorting hundreds of pilgrims to Joseph’s tomb” when “Palestinian gunmen opened heavy fire,” wounding three Israelis, including a soldier. The Palestinian Red Crescent announced that 64 Palestinians had been wounded in clashes in the area, where there is constant tension.
Last May, Israeli soldiers killed 16-year-old Geith Yammeen in clashes at the same location.
