An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale hit the east coast of Taiwan today, and the tremors were felt by residents of the capital, Taipei.
And the French press agency, citing the Institute of Meteorology of Taiwan, reported that the earthquake occurred shortly at 12:00 with an epicenter about 30 km from the coast of Halin County and at a depth of only 6 km above sea level.
There were no reports of human casualties or property damage as a result of the earthquake.
