An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale hit Antique Province in the southern Philippines today.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the earthquake’s epicenter occurred 20 kilometers southwest of Anini municipality in the province, at a depth of 6 kilometers.
There have been no reports of casualties or property damage as a result of the earthquake.
The Philippines is located in the Pacific “Ring of Fire” region, where about 90% of the world’s earthquakes occur.
