(4) Ukrainian regions show great support for joining Russia

Russia’s Electoral Commission announced that the preliminary results of referendums on the annexation of four regions of Ukraine under full or partial control of Russia show a “yes” victory after the votes were counted at polling stations in Russia, Russian news agencies reported on Tuesday. The Russian Electoral Commission confirmed that support came from 97% to 98% of the vote after a 20% to 27% vote count at polling stations in Russia, while the vote count began in Russian-controlled regions of Ukraine.
