The fourth edition of the Arab Junior Cup 2022, organized by the Arab Football Federation and hosted by the Algerian Federation in Oran, Algeria, will start today, Tuesday, from 23 August to 8 September.
The tournament will be held with the participation of 16 teams: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Tunisia, Algeria, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Oman, Palestine, Comoros, Lebanon, Libya, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania and Yemen.
The Algerian Football Federation, in agreement with the Arab Federation, approved two stadiums for the matches of the tournament, namely Al-Sik and Mostaganem.
In the first group, Algeria will face Palestine at the Al Siq Stadium and the United Arab Emirates will face Sudan at the Mostaganem Stadium, both matches taking place at 5 pm local time.
In the second group, Tunisia will face Libya at the Al Siq Stadium, while Oman will face Yemen at the Mostaganem Stadium at exactly 8pm local time.
The Arab Junior Cup is one of the championships of the Arab Football Association. The first tournament started in 2011 and was organized by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Arabia team won their title, while the Syrian team came in second. This was followed by a second edition held in 2012 in Tunisia and the Tunisian team won the title at the expense of their counterpart, the Iraqi team, who won the third edition of Qatar in 2014 against the team of Saudi Arabia.
