Iran prone to earthquakes
It is noteworthy that Iran is subject to earthquakes of varying intensity from time to time, given that it is located above a major fault zone. The strongest earthquake to strike Iran in recent history was the one that hit the provinces of Gilan and Zanjan in the north of the country in 1990. This earthquake had a magnitude of 7.7, killing 37,000 and injuring 100,000.
Therefore, it is important for the Iranian government and its citizens to remain vigilant and prepared for the possibility of future earthquakes. This includes having emergency plans in place and investing in earthquake-resistant infrastructure.
