The 2023 World Junior and Women’s Snooker Championship kicks off in Riyadh
The 2023 World Junior and Women’s Snooker Championship kicked off in Riyadh today in the presence of International Snooker Federation Vice President James Lizzie and Saudi Billiards and Snooker Federation President Dr. Nasser Al Shammari. The championship will continue until the 17th of this month.
32 players participate in the under 17 category and 60 players participate in the under 21 and women’s competitions. The under 17 category includes players from Egypt, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Jordan, Oman, Pakistan, UAE, and Wales. The under 21 and women’s competitions are open to players up to 21 years old, with 18 players taking part.
The competition of the first day of the tournament started yesterday in the under 17 competition for juniors with 32 players. These players were divided into 8 groups. Among the participants were Ziyad Al-Kabbani, Muhannad Al-Kharti, Abdullah Al-Kabbani, Muhammad Al-Shammari, Omar Al-Sini, Hammam Sami, and Faris Al-Madon.
