Arab Football Association Announces Schedule for 2023 King Salman Cup
The Arab Football Association has released the schedule for the upcoming 2023 King Salman Cup group stage matches. The tournament will be held in the national team system from July 27 to August 12 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and will be organized by the Saudi Federation.
Qualifying Matches
To determine who qualified for the group stage of the tournament, two home and away matches will be played between Sudanese side Al-Hilal and Tunisian side Sfaxien on July 4 and 7.
Group Stage Competition
The group stage competition will run from July 27 to August 3, followed by the quarter-finals on August 5 and 6. The semi-finals will take place on August 9, and the final match will take place on Saturday, August 12 to determine the champion.
Group Composition
The first group will include Saudi teams Al-Ittihad, the Iraqi police, and the Tunisian team Taraji, along with the qualifying teams from Tunisian Sfaxien and Sudanese Hilal. The second group includes Saudi teams Al-Hilal, Libyan team Al Ahli Tripoli, Qatari Al-Sadd, and Moroccan Widad. The third group includes Saudi victorious and youth teams, Egyptian Zamalek, and Tunisian Monastir Union. The fourth group includes Algerian youth Belouizdad, Moroccan Raja, Kuwaiti club, and Emirati unit.
Raja Club Reigning Champions
The Moroccan Raja club won the title of the last draw of the tournament, known as the Mohammed VI Cup for Champion Clubs. The prizes for the current draw are $10 million, and the winner will receive $6 million.
